Cambridge Harriers U15s girls team turned out in force today at Dartford for their 2nd KYAL match of the season on what had to be one of the hottest days of the year so far. Trying to keep cool was most definitely a challenge but the Under 15s girls persevered and managed to come away with some great wins and PBs both on the track and on the field.
Asmara Griffiths is going from strength to strength in the 75m hurdles and was rewarded with a new PB of 12.64 and 3rd place, Hannah Atkinson walked a great race in the 2k walk and knocked over half a minute off of her former PB and a 2nd place, both Marian (100m) and Rebecca (200m) won 1st places and new PBs of 12.71 and 26.85 respectively in their races, with all 3 under 100m sprinters coming first in all their sprints, Kacey and Amirat came 1st and 3rd in their high jump strings with over 23 entries taking part. Well done to Omoteniade for jumping into the Shot Put for points and to cover last minute when the high jump ran over, and well done to Kacey for jumping into the discus also for points for the club with a throw of 19.60m. A good day all round saw the under 15 girls climb up the table to finish 4th in their age group from 7th place at the last match, so well done to all who came.
