Harriers,
You may be aware that Cambridge Harriers was allocated 30 places for The Big Half, and these were recently allocated to members by ballot as we were over-subscribed with applicants who met the criteria. After being tipped off by an obviously better connected member, I chanced my luck and applied for some more places – and was successful! After including the unlucky four I now have 6 other places for the race.
Given the lengthy application period for criteria-satisfying members, I am confident that anyone who met the criteria and wanted to participate had ample time to apply. Therefore, the 6 additional places will be offered to members who may not satisfy all of the criteria – all you need to be is a member and aged 17yrs (race requirement). The race is on 25th April 2021, some 7 weeks later than normal in the year and, perhaps, somewhat optimistic given the current situation. As we have been allocated places under the Community Entries scheme they are priced at just £10 each. I will be the administrator for Cambridge’s entries and all of our runners must be registered and showing as 'Completed' before 17:00 on Monday 5th April 2021.

In the event of another ballot I will close applications at midnight 24th January 2021. This gives Harriers nearly 2 weeks to email me and over 2 months to complete registrations.
