LOUGHBOROUGH
Kacey Walters, second claim member of Cambridge Harriers, took the trip up to Loughborough at the weekend to compete at the above competition. Having been really ill for nearly 3 months at the end of March/beginning of April and unable to do any training at all, we decided following her recovery and start back to training properly, a small open competition would probably be the best place to test the waters for high jumping again. Kacey won the event with a clearance of 1.68m (4 cms off her pb) and three very close attempts at a new PB, and although jumping alone from 1.53m onwards and with no-one else around to push her, she handled the competition well and found the experience very positive.
