While most of the club’s distance runners were pounding the streets of London, Clem Dixon was doing the same a thousand miles further East in the Warsaw Marathon. It was a large and impeccably organised event and the course was fast and flat if not particularly inspiring.
The first three 10ks were ticked off in 42 minutes each with relative ease so a sub 3 hour time was on the cards and although there were a couple of scary moments, first when being overtaken by the 3 hour pacemaker, and secondly with a deceptively long finishing straight, in the end there was almost half a minute to spare.
RESULT: 337. Clem Dixon 2:59:34 (15th M50)
