Road Running

Folkestone 10

There was a good turn out at the Folkestone 10 mile race on Good Friday. Special congratulations to Mick Ellsmore for his 21st appearance in this race on his 70th birthday, gaining second place in his new age category. This was the second event in this year's Kent Road Running Grand Prix, the next is the Darent Valley 10km on Sunday 8th May: Darent Valley 10k | S.D.A.C. (swanleyanddistrictac.org).

Results: 7 James Macdonald 55:57, 26 Danny Easton 1:02:21, 33 Ray Ramsay 1:03:26, 47 Mark Penny 1:05:36, 70 Graham Maynard 1:08:39, 81 Sue Dixon 1:09:52, 110 Martin Hawkins 1:12:55, 166 Sally Carr 1:17:52, 170 Paul Ford 1:18:19, 184 Mick Ellsmore 1:19:15, 234 Ian McCarthy 1:23:59, 290 Angela Ford 1:29:11 & 399 Maria Macdonald 1:37:30.


RunThrough Victoria Park 10km

Wil Longhurst finished in 33rd place in 41:03 and Emma Stormont clocked 44:22 for 51st place overall.


Boston (UK) Marathon

Clem Dixon recorded a time of 3:28:15 for 164th overall and 4th M60.


Track & Field

Tonbridge Easter Open Meeting

Warm still conditions at Tonbridge resulted in a number of good performances. Celia Allen (U13) and Tom Ravenscroft (U15) both contested two events each. Celia recorded 1:54.72 over 600m and 5:36.66 for the 1500m. Tom recorded 20.06 over 150m and 1:43.01 in the 600m.


Iris Williams (U15) was the fastest in her age group in her heat of the 1500m with 5:00.72. Sam Scrase-Field (U15) made his track debut over 1500m with a time of 4:27.69.


Hannah Hopper (U20) dominated the 3000m walk, finishing over a minute ahead of second place with a new outdoor personal best of 14:57.20.


In the hammer Sophie Fenner opened her season with a PB of 35.44m and Natalie Mann (W35) threw 29.38m.


Woodford Green with Essex Ladies Pre-Season Open Graded Meeting

Doyin and Derin Aderinto recorded personal bests of 18.77s and 20.26s respectively over 150m.


London Inter Club Challenge

The club had three family pairings at the first of this season's LICC meetings at Lee Valley.


In the 80m hurdles Elijah (U15) and Keziah (U17) Olaleye both recorded PBs of 13.25s and 12.58s respectively.


Israel and Ethel Olaigbe (both U15) secured PBs in the shot of 8.97m and 6.55m.


Hannah Bridge (U17) produced a PB of 28.74m in the discus and finished second in the U18W shot with 14.09m. Brother Michael (U15) had a best of 10.86m in the shot and 30.16m in the javelin.


Other club throwers in action were Peter Wishart (M60) with 33.92m in the discus and 9.76m in the shot. Natalie Mann (W35) recorded a hammer season's best of 31:09m and threw the javelin 18.64m.


Comeback 5000#2, Battersea Park

Holly Dixon removed seventeen seconds from her 5000m personal best with a time of 16:14.33.
