The Cottrell Cup was awarded to Mal Pires as we celebrated the end of another successful and enjoyable cross country season in the Hare & Billet. This trophy, which dates back to 1892, is given to the cross country runner who makes the most appearances for the club when compared with the previous season.
Mal ran in 9 qualifying races since joining the club in November but he had to beat off competition from other new members Dom Fiore and Alan Black each with a score of 7 and also from Steve Hodges who ran in 11 races compared with just 3 last year due to injury.
