The indoors season is well under way and there have been a number of good performances all round
The club also organised its own indoor meeting at Sutcliffe on Sunday. The event proved a great success with 110 athletes, Some excellent performances by club members and a bit of money made for the club. Next event on Sturday March 3rd followed by the Kent Indoor champs at Lee valley two weeks after that
Summary of indoor performances to date
Nana Gyedu took 2nd at the South of England indoor champs with a Shot Put of 13.89m while Abi Stewart was not far behind with a pb of 11.95 in 5th place
Brandon Mingeli was equal quickest of the Under 20’s at the London Indoor Games recording a time of 6.86 despite losing his balance ten metres from the line and has since improved this to 6.81 to rank 6th in the UK in his first year in the age group. At last weekend’s national Junior championships in Sheffield he finished just outside the medals in 4th place with a time of 6.86
Vera Chinedu competed in Sheffield as well running an indoor 200m pb of 24.92 to make the U20 final where she finished 5th with 25.20
