Joydens Wood 7.5 miles

In spite of Omicron we had a decent turn out for our 7.5 mile cross country race; a field of 61 of which 53 ran the full course, 16 Cambridge Harriers were joined by good numbers from Dartford Harriers and Central Park Athletic among others.

Forestry works were finished, at least for now, so we were back to our usual course, but they had left many of the trails in a very muddy condition, which was compounded by recent heavy rain.

Congratulations to Bayley Massey, winning one of the races in this series for the first time. Bayley and Chris Loudon ran together for much of the race but in the end Bayley was too strong for Chris who had to settle for his second silver medal in a row. Third was Tommy Taylor of Bexley and fourth, taking the bronze medal as third Cambridge was David Worden. Sixth overall and winner of the women's race was Holly Page of Dartford Harriers, 2nd woman, and first Cambridge Harrier, was Emily Meins and Christine Lutsch was third, not a Cambridge Harrier yet but she assures me that that is about to change!
