It has been a few years now since we have struggled to field a team for any of our target competitions and so it was a shame that last Saturday we found that injury had decimated 75% of our entrants for the Kent Championships at Brands Hatch. None the less the three who were able to turn out were greeted by sunshine and a fabulous view of the London skyline. Despite all the dire predictions the ground had dried up fairly well too. At 8.4 hilly kilometres the championships are a gruelling test and as such they double as the women’s club championship. Sue Dixon continued her excellent form this season that the team has come to rely upon. She came home in 39:56 to clinch a well deserved club title. She was backed up by sister Sally Carr who has also been ever present this season. We were all delighted to welcome back final team member Monica Whitefield after a tough three years of accident and illness. We had a team!
