The senior women had a great turn out for the last Kent League Cross country fixture of the season at Footscray Meadows. The single lap course had mole hills instead of big hills but with lots of mud and squelch underfoot it was a testing course. A flurry of snow showers added to the atmosphere as the girls ran from the shelter of the team tent to the start – big thankyou to whoever put the tent up! Eleven started and eleven finished (nearly as many as the senior men) with Emily Gelder first home in 16th closely followed by Molly Hawkins, who has upped her training regime lately in 18th. Cara Oliver, Chris Bond and Rose Baker then finished in quick succession for 20th, 23rd and 24th spots and we picked up 4th place in the three to score competition.
Donna Martin just got the better of Sue Dixon for 48th place compared to 49th and then followed Sally Carr (55th), Susan Edwards (64th), Maria McDonald (71st) and Shelly Clark, who was running well before getting stitch and finishing with 73rd. In the 6 to score competition we were third team and the end of season results saw us take 4th overall in the three to score and 3rd overall in the four to score behind Blackheath and Tonbridge but well ahead of lots of other Kent clubs. Big thank you to Maria and Rose who ran the Danson park run a few hours earlier as well
