Brands Hatch
The senior men had another good turnout at this year's Kent Champs with a total of 18 of us taking on the new course at Brands Hatch. The going was heavy over waterlogged ground and the course offered no shelter from the strong wind and frequent showers. Rob Jackaman was our first finisher in 15th position closely followed by Chris Wyles in 21st.
As in previous years the team competition was dominated by Tonbridge and Kent AC with all but two of the 14 who finished ahead of Rob being from those two clubs. The race was won by Kent's John Gilbert (for the fifth time!) but it was Tonbridge who emerged victorious in both the six and twelve to score team competitions. We showed good strength in depth behind Rob and Chris but were squeezed into fourth place in both team competitions by Medway & Maidstone.
