They dropped liked flies before the day but on the day – a group of eight CH vests made it to the start, all the way round, and through to the finish. Weather absolutely beautiful and a usually known muddy course was quite dry, once at the top of the hill one could have taken in the sights of London from a different angel if one wasn’t watching the uneven, cracked ground under foot as you waved your arms in the air to keep balance. Out of a field of 311 runners, first home in a very repositionable 19th position was Holly Dixon, the ground didn’t seem to slow her down, next was Louise Knight who ran both cautiously and nervously on an ankle injury. Susan Dixon remains in form as the third scorer with Christine Bond behind her as the strapping to her knee feel off somewhere round the cause! Megan Williams we think smiled all the way round and seemed to like the cause. Hayley next with a comfortable run followed by Sally, then Maria. The real result was in the number we had out this year at this championships and that the team finished in 12th position as opposed to last year’s 25th so well done all.
