Sally Carr was coming to help and officiate but as usual……..ended up in three events happy to go wherever and do whatever! First up the 200m, Sally to fill the A string so Cara could jog the B for a point but unfortunately even this proved too much for her injury. It was Susan Dixon who ran a storming 200m race from a standing start setting herself a PB in first place, her park runs have also been going well with more to come this year we hope. Having just finished the 200m Sally was next up on the long jump but jelly legs didn’t stop her making a jump. Maria dropped an age group to cover us in the W50’s, having trouble deciding which leg she favoured she earnt herself a PB.
The 1500m was our strongest event of the night, with Lisa Atkinson in 4th as an A string W35 and Sally 2nd which equalled sister Susan’s 2nd place in the W50’s, holding on to her usual place Ros was gave us our second first of the night to win the W60’s. The discus didn’t go as well as both Cara and Jenny had hoped, but a 3rd from an injured Cara and 2nd with a PB for Jenny Agyepong was a good result. Jenny had been at Ashford both Saturday and Sunday at the Kent champs with her daughter Cloe, to get here for a third day in a row means she gets a sticker from me!
We ended the night on with a good make shift 4 x 100m who did us proud to come in 3rd, Susan Dixon got away well handing to Lisa up the back straight, Sally took the baton next holding the position, Maria aware of the two other clubs behind coming up fast held onto 3rd to bring the team home.
Team thanks goes to Holly, Andy and Cloe for coming to support us. Photo of: 4 x100m team, Maria, Sally, Susan, Lisa.
Next Match Friday 25th May at Tonbridge, don’t miss out!!!
