Seven club members competed at the South of England Masters Indoor Championships which took place in conjunction with the British Masters Pentathlon Championships.
Highlights were double Gold for both Ros Tabor and Wole Odele in the 400m, W65 3000m and M50 60m. In a pulsating M50 400m final which pitted the 60m champion against the 200m champion, and dubbed by many onlookers as the race of the day, Wole came from behind to snatch Gold on the line by 0.04s, finishing in a season’s best time of 58.55s. Ros finished in 83.51s and 13:35.22 in her maiden outing at 400m and 3000m, respectively.
Other medalists were Jenny Agyepong with a Silver medal in the W50 Shot in a season’s best, Tim Carter also winning Silver in the M65 200m, and Peter Wishart securing Bronze in the M55 Shot Put with a season’s best throw.
