Tonbridge Friday 30 July 2021
The first of two vets only open meetings to make up for the Covid-induced loss of the annual six Kent Vets League matches, saw seven club members compete in a total of 11 events at a windy Tonbridge track.
Wole Odele was first on the track, winning the 100m race and 2nd in the 200m with strong headwinds in both.
New club member, Peter Reynolds, and Christian Poulton were both seeded in the second 3000m race. Peter, competing in his first 3000m race on the track, won in a time of 9:52.88 whilst Christian finished in 10:46.10 on his season debut at the distance.
Two different 800m races saw Matthew Preston finish in 2:18.35 and Ian McCarthy recorded a time of 3:10.15 on his first outing over two laps this season.
In the field, Natalie Mann competed in three events - hammer, javelin and shot, whilst Paris Hunt competed in the javelin and hammer throw.
