On Saturday, Christian Hopper, representing England at the SIAB Schools Home International in Derby, won silver in the 3000m race walk in a new personal best of 13:51.26s. Christian led for the majority of the race being shadowed by the two Irish athletes. The gold medallist left it late to take the lead, powering past Christian, who tried to respond but had to settle for silver and a new personal best just over a second behind the winner.
At the Blackheath and Bromley Open at Norman Park, held mid-week, Luke Bridges (U15) secured personal bests over 200m (27.52s) and 800m (2:29.37s). There were also PBs over 200m for Zafirah Alebiosu (U15) and Ciara McGinty (U15) clocking 28.11s and 28.77s respectively.
There was a personal best in the hammer of 32.19m for Natalie Mann (W35) at the Lee Valley Autumn Throws Fest.
Julie Backley (W50) finished 8th overall and 1st lady at the Dartford Bridge 10km with a time of 43:53. Martin Hawkins (M60) crossed the line in 15th place with 45:11.
