Blackheath & Bromley HAC Open Sprints Meeting, Norman Park (Mon. 17th May)

Brandon Mingeli recorded the fastest 100m times of the night clocking 10.45s and 10.53s. Ciara McGinty (U15G) and Divine Akinlolu (U17M) returned to action just two days after running in the Club Trials, clocking 14.35s and 12.00s over100m respectively.


Blackheath and Bromley HAC - Hurdles and Middle Distance Open Meeting (inc. Walks) (Sat. 22nd May)

Just a handful of club members attended this meeting. First to race were the clubs race walkers, who raced over 3000m. Luc Legon dominated the race to cross the line in a season best of 12:55.23. Christian Hopper (U17M) reduced his PB by 19 sec. to 14:04.24 for 2nd overall. Hannah Hopper (U20W) walked strongly for 6th overall reducing her PB by 20 sec. clocking 15:20.51.


Mia Harris (U15G) and Inez Rice (U17W) recorded PBs of 2:35.78 and 2:36.59 respectively over 800m whilst Wole Odele clocked a SB of 2:15.50. In the 1500 there was a PB for Iris Williams (U13G) of 5:08.28 and in the 5000m David Worden (M35) took 2nd place in his race with 16:30.55.

Kent Young Athletes League, Dartford (Sun. 23rd May) - Report from Mick Bond

The club’s Under 13 and U15 teams made their inter-club league season debut at Dartford. Although not placing well in the team competition there were some standout performances on the day and a lot of new members getting their first taste of competition.


Under 15 Boys - New member Joshua Baker threw a PB of 41.21 to win the javelin and cement himself in the UK top ten. Aramide Lawal improved his PB to 12.9 in the 100m and Felix Tynan’s ran strongly in the 300m for a 46.1 PB.


Under 15 Girls – Mark Newell’s middle distance squad continue to shine with 1500m PB’s for Amelia Lawrence (5:07.8) and Mia Harris (5:27.7). Abigail Richards tried to front run her 1500m A race but the strong winds and lack of opposition meant she slowed in the second half and finished with 5:09.0. Thirty minutes latter however she partnered with Faith Assah in the 300 with both girls running PB’s (Faith 43.8) and Abigail (47.6). Keziah Olaleye improved her hurdles PB to 12.3 whilst new member Gaby Noyce jumped 1.35 in the high jump and 4.05 in the long jump.


Under 13 Boys - Tom Ravenscroft continued his fine sprinting form with second place in the 200m in 29.6. Oliver Cook and Elijah Olaleye backed him up with solid performances in the B strings whilst Aniket Iyengar set a debut PB of 5:26.0 in the 1500m


Under 13 Girls – Iris Williams took eight seconds off her 1200m PB to take second place in 4:04.6 with good back up from Sophia Pawa who finished 3rd in the B string (4:24.7). Iris then stepped down to the 150m and showed good speed to get another second place in a time of 22.9.


The next match for the Under 15/Under 13 team is at Sutcliffe on Saturday 5th June whilst this coming weekend the Under 20/Under 17 team get their turn at Norman Park, Bromley on Sunday.



Hercules Wimbledon Field Open #2, Wimbledon (Sun. 23rd May)

The clubs throws coach Peter Wishart (M60) threw a PB of 36.15m with the 1k discus.


Lee Valley Throws Fest, Lee Valley (Sun. 23rd May)

Craig Lacy won the men's javelin with a SB of 63.41. Natalie Mann (W35) finished 2nd in the women's hammer with a throw of 29.75.
