Cambridge Harriers Sutcliffe Park Track & Field Nights #4, Eltham (Wed. 14th Aug.)
The final of the clubs Sutcliffe Park Track & Field Nights held in conjunction with the British Milers Club took place on Wednesday and again attracted a very healthy entry, with a number of personal bests achieved by club members. The club would like to thank all the officials and volunteers, without whom these meetings could not have taken place.
Over 100 metres Luca Glyde-Jones (U17 11.88s) and Elijah Olaleye (U17 11.96s) dipped under 12 seconds for the first time. There were also PBs for Jack Addley (U15 12.96s) and Molly Kenny (U17 14.06s).
Over 800 metres Thomas Ellis (U17) has improved his PB at each of the meetings which now stands at 2:07.97s and Jude Maslin (U15) removed six seconds from his previous best with a time of 2:30.37s. Emily Thomson (U13) clocked 3 :20.90s for a new PB.
In the 1500 metres there were PBs for Brett Baker (U23 4:07.78s), Seren Yeatman (U13 5:16.15) and Isaac Thomson (U13 5:47.43s) and Thomas Brooke won the combined BMC and Open 3000m B race in 9:53.76s for a new personal best.
In the javelin Paris Hunt (M60) recorded a PB of 35.53m.
Southern Athletics League, Norman Park, Bromley (Sat. 17th Aug.)
The final Southern Athletics League match of the season was hosted by Blackheath and Bromley, at a very sunny Norman Park. We finished 5th overall on the day and awaiting official confirmation on whether we stay in the Premier Division or we see relegation. Well done and massive thank you to all of the athletes who have represented us in the league this year.
Women (Sophie Fenner): Stand out performances from the day were Emily Cadman, finishing 1st in both the 100m and 200m, within a tenth of her PBs. Amelia Lawrence ran a three second PB in the 800m of 2:22.75s. We had two debutants with Georgia Huddleston in the 800m and Rose Baker (pictured below) in the 1500m steeplechase. Julie Backley ran a season's best in the 5000m of 20:45.05s and Sofia Carrillo threw a PB in the discus of 33.64m.
Newham & Essex Beagles "Stratford Speed GP", Stratford CT (Sun. 18th Aug.)
A personal best over 100 metres of 12.11s for Immanuel Jegede.
