London Mini-Marathon
Twelve young Cambridge Harriers competed for their Boroughs on Saturday, reports Mark Newell.
This event has traditionally been held on the day of the London Marathon but for some reason it was scheduled for the day before.
The event was run over the last 2.6 miles of the marathon course. Although spectators were quite sparse for the first couple of miles, our athletes had good crowd support over the last half mile or so.
Some were competing in this event for the first time and some for the last time, but what they all had in common was a fantastic experience of running along this iconic route.
Results: U13G: 36th Celia Yeatman 10:29; U15G: 16th Iris Williams 9:32, 77th Sophia Pawa 10:49, 81st Mia Harris 10:56; U17W: 30th Amelia Lawrence 10:04, 39th Millie Atkinson 10:11, 79th Evie Ravenscroft 11:06. U15B: 24th Josh Wellings 8:47, 25th Felix Tynan 8:51, 40th Sam Holloway 9:03, 69th Aniket Iyengar 9:31, 86th Luke Bridge 9:43; U17M: 75th Aidan Newton 9:07.
Club A.G.M.
The Annual General Meeting of the Club took place on Friday 30th September at the Clubhouse in Bexley. Dean Lacy (pictured below) was enrolled as the Club President and Lisa Atkinson as President Elect.
