Having been promoted last year to Division 1 (just below the southern premier league) we knew this was going to be tough. The good news was that Team Bedford must have known the same and dropped out of the league before it evet started taking one of the two potential relegation spaces with them ! So with five teams left and one to go up and one to go down we just needed to finish in the middle three. Despite best efforts however by all concerned we didn’t quite make it. Basildon Beagles (a combined team of Basildon and Newham) finished top, just ahead of home team Tonbridge with Woodford and ATIP (Ashford, Thanet, Invicta and Paddock Wood combined) just behind them and us in 5th place. Despite this there were and number of excellent performances and early season pb.s Best performance of the day on the female side was Abbie Stewart’s throw in the hammer of 48.49m to put her in the Uk top ten whilst on the Men’s died best performance was Dan Falode’s 6.62 Long Jump
With three more matches to go all is not lost and we are hoping for a better result in the next match which is at home on Sunday May 26th
